The Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA) has paid a working visit to the Korea Importers Association of Ghana and the Vehicle and Asset Dealers Association of Ghana as part of its regular shipper outreach initiative on Wednesday, April 6,2022.<\/p>\n
The visit which forms part of the Authority\u2019s mandate of addressing concerns of shippers in the country saw officers of the GSA take members of the Association through support mechanisms available to assist their operations.<\/p>\n

Head of the Shipper Services and Trade Facilitation Mrs. Monica Josiah assured the importers of improvements in the processes of clearing goods at the port. She said the Authority in collaboration with other stakeholders are working to resolve concerns on issues such as trial plates for cargo trucks, tyre fixing levy and undrivable car levy among others.<\/p>\n
She reiterated the need for importers to expedite action in clearing their goods at the ports to avoid having them on the Uncleared Cargo List (UCL) which are later auctioned. She however assured the importers that measures are being put in place to ensure the streamlining of the auctioning of goods categorized under UCL. She noted that a committee formed to handle the matter last year has already submitted its report to government for consideration.<\/p>\n

\u00a0These visits elicit views from shippers on their operational activities particularly challenges they face in accessing services from shipping service providers. The concerns raised by shippers during these visitations are subsequently addressed by the GSA.<\/p>\n
