{"id":5662,"date":"2022-03-22T07:48:24","date_gmt":"2022-03-22T07:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/?p=5662"},"modified":"2022-03-22T07:48:24","modified_gmt":"2022-03-22T07:48:24","slug":"intra-africa-trade-receives-major-boost-as-payment-transactions-can-be-done-in-120sec-under-papss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vigorous-feistel.187-124-37-238.plesk.page\/?p=5662","title":{"rendered":"Intra-Africa trade receives major boost as payment transactions can be done in 120sec under PAPSS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A trial of the Pan Africa Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) has revealed that payment transactions on the platform can be completed in 120 seconds, the Deputy CEO of PAPSS John Bosco Sebabi has said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the impressive transactional time of the payment platform is one that should encourage businesses especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to formalize and take advantage of the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-5660\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-03-21-at-1.42.23-PM-1024x715.jpeg\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" \/>He made this known at the 115th Meeting of the Greater Accra Shipper Committee of the Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA) held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>He revealed that under the West African Monetary Zone made up of six (6) member states &#8211; The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone &#8211; so far, six (6) Central Banks have piloted the system, nineteen (19) Commercial Banks have signed up; six (6) Switches have signed Technology Connectivity Agreement and twenty (20) FinTechs have also been enrolled onto the PAPSS platform.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5659\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-03-21-at-1.42.23-PM-1.jpeg\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" \/>PAPSS is a centralised payment and settlement infrastructure for intra-African trade and commerce payments.
