{"id":5177,"date":"2021-04-23T17:48:58","date_gmt":"2021-04-23T16:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/?p=5177"},"modified":"2021-04-23T17:48:58","modified_gmt":"2021-04-23T16:48:58","slug":"shippers-appeal-for-increased-security-on-highways","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vigorous-feistel.187-124-37-238.plesk.page\/?p=5177","title":{"rendered":"Shippers Appeal for Increased Security on Highways"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Upper East Regional Shipper Committee (UERSC) have appealed to the Minister of National Security and the Inspector General of Police for increased surveillance and visibility on highways in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The appeal which was made at the 69<sup>th<\/sup> Meeting of the UERSC on 20<sup>th<\/sup> April, 2021 in Bolgatanga followed a sudden rise in cases of highway robberies on the Bolga-Tamale and Bolga-Bawku-Kulungungu highways.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5178\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Pictcure1.png\"><em><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Resource Person Delivering a Lecture<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Committee acknowledged the effort of the Upper East Regional Police commander in escorting tomato trucks along the Tamale-Paga stretch but called more security surveillance on other highways in the region, especially around the Tilli Forest where mobile phone networks are not stable.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. David Azup Ogo, Executive Director of OD Management Consult and a resource person at the meeting made a presentation on topic Partnerships, Mergers, Acquisitions and Succession Planning in Business. He emphasised the need for the need members pull talents and resources together to grow their businesses, explaining that people shy away from partnerships or mergers because of mistrust and other related issues.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ogo encouraged participants to go into mergers and partnerships after apprising themselves with all the needed documentations as well as engaging the services of lawyers to review agreements before they sign.
