{"id":3795,"date":"2019-07-10T11:41:17","date_gmt":"2019-07-10T10:41:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/?p=3795"},"modified":"2019-07-10T11:41:17","modified_gmt":"2019-07-10T10:41:17","slug":"spinnet-textiles-garment-cluster-calls-gsas-intervention-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vigorous-feistel.187-124-37-238.plesk.page\/?p=3795","title":{"rendered":"SPINnet Textiles &#038; Garment Cluster calls for GSA\u2019s intervention on charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The SPINnet Textiles &amp; Garment Cluster, an association of textiles and garment manufacturers, have appealed for the intervention of the Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA) to lessen the high rate of airfreight levied on their exports.<\/p>\n<p>The association led by its president, Mr Samuel Duodo, made the appeal on Tuesday 9<sup>th<\/sup>July, 2019 when he led a team of executives to the Ghana Shippers\u2019 House in Accra to pay a courtesy call on the GSA.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3798\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Spin.jpg\">The visit followed a request by the GSA for the two parties to deliberate on issues of interest and also provide a platform for the association to present export-related concerns in the garment sector for support.<\/p>\n<p>The association was established in 1997 with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the Government of Ghana to assist small and medium enterprises in the garment industry. It has a laboratory in Accra which provides training and support to garment manufacturers to upgrade their skills to meet international standards of quality production and export.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3796\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Spin-1.jpg\"><br \/>\nThe Head of Shipper Services and Trade Facilitation of the GSA, Mrs Naa Densua Aryeetey, assured the association of her outfit\u2019s readiness to look into their concerns for redress.<\/p>\n<p>She said it was crucial that bottlenecks in the transport chain of goods&nbsp;&nbsp;and capacity building of exporters were removed to align with government\u2019s commitment to increasing Ghana\u2019s exports.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Aryeetey also informed the association about the services the GSA provides to shippers and expressed the organisation\u2019s readiness to assist them to become business competitive.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3797\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Spin-2.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The SPINnet Textiles &amp;
