Head of the Freight and Logistics Department of the GSA Mr. Fred Asiedu Dartey in a handshake with the Representative of the Burkina Faso Shippers\u2019 Council in Ghana, Ms. Denise Bado Bouba.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\nIt took place at the Ghana Shippers House on Thursday 18th<\/sup> May 2023 followed an initial meeting with the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) on Tuesday 16th May 2023.According to the GHPA, the proposal for the tariff adjustment is because of the rising cost of providing port services which is attributable to inflation.<\/p>\n The second in the series of meetings to be held on the matter, the GSA engaged the Shippers’ Councils of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. Key Industry players such as the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), Ghana Chamber of Mines, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) among others. They sought clarification on pertinent issues including receipt and delivery charges and tariff schedules which have been revised by the proposed rates by the GPHA.
