{"id":35704,"date":"2023-04-18T13:03:05","date_gmt":"2023-04-18T12:03:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/?p=35704"},"modified":"2023-04-18T13:03:05","modified_gmt":"2023-04-18T12:03:05","slug":"gsa-moves-to-resolve-challenges-encountered-by-cross-border-traders-in-the-north","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vigorous-feistel.187-124-37-238.plesk.page\/?p=35704","title":{"rendered":"GSA Moves to Resolve Challenges Encountered by Cross Border Traders in the North"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of effort to deal with the challenges that confront cross border traders in the Upper East Region, the Tamale Branch of the Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA) embarked on an outreach to Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region from Monday 20<sup>th<\/sup> to Wednesday 22<sup>nd<\/sup> March 2023 to engage some the traders.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-35705\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/pix1-1024x524.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100% &lt;img src=\" height=\"100%\" \/>The trade groups visited are the Cereal Traders Association, the Cattle Dealers Association as well as Electrical, Fabrics and Fashion Trade groups.<\/p>\n<p>The main concern raised by the various trade associations was the continuous harassment and extortion by uniformed personnel stationed at the borders in the Northern part of the country. Others included the high exchange rate as well as the existence of multiple checkpoints along the roads where extortions occur.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35706\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/pix2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" \/>It is for this reason that the GSA has intensified its outreach to deal with the challenges at the Namoo and Fufulso borders in the North to ensure the growth of the sector.<\/p>\n<p>An Officer of the Shipper Services and Trade Facilitation Department of the GSA, Maruf Musah advised the traders to report such occurrences to the GSA through its Shipper Complaints and Support Unit at the Paga border to enable investigations and effective resolution.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35707\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/pix3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" \/>The traders expressed appreciation to the GSA and encouraged their fellow traders to utilize the GSA\u2019s Shipper Complaints and Support Unit at the Paga border to have their complaints resolved.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-35708\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/pix4-1024x612.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of effort to deal with the challenges that confront cross border traders in the Upper East Region, the Tamale Branch of the Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA) embarked on<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":35709,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[24],"tags":[905,1307,1945,2190],"class_list":["post-35704","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-ghana-shippers-authority-gsa","tag-maruf-musah","tag-shipper-complaints-and-support-unit","tag-upper-east-region"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.9 -
