{"id":3290,"date":"2019-03-29T11:52:41","date_gmt":"2019-03-29T11:52:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/?p=3290"},"modified":"2019-03-29T11:52:41","modified_gmt":"2019-03-29T11:52:41","slug":"accra-host-8thborderless-alliance-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vigorous-feistel.187-124-37-238.plesk.page\/?p=3290","title":{"rendered":"Accra to host 8th Borderless Alliance Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 8<sup>th&nbsp;<\/sup>Borderless Alliance Conference for the West African sub-region would be hosted in Accra from the 24<sup>th&nbsp;<\/sup>to 26<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp; April, 2019 at the Swiss Spirit Hotel-Alisa.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this year\u2019s conference is to ensure sustained advocacy on trade facilitation, regional integration and ease of doing business in West Africa, where participants, decision makers and trade experts will discuss how to improve their businesses and create a more enabling business environment across the region.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3292\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/borderless-1024x767.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>Mr Ziad Hamoui (middle) addressinng the press<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mr Ziad Hamoui, Borderless Alliance National Committee President for Ghana made the announcement at a media launch of the conference on 28<sup>th&nbsp;<\/sup>March, 2019 at the Ghana Shippers\u2019 House.<\/p>\n<p>He said a number of major policy interventions have ensued during past conferences that have led to major reductions in checkpoints, delays and road governance activities which have contributed significantly to the free movement of goods and people along the West African corridor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA number of interventions such as the deepening and streamlining the implementation of various ECOWAS trade protocols such as ETLS, Axle load implementation and Joint Border Posts have all become a feature of the success of the Annual Borderless Conferences\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s conference is under the theme \u201cFacilitating Intra-Regional Trade in West Africa: Emerging Trends.\u201d and is expected to draw participants from the region\u2019s leading trading companies, transport and logistics companies, financial institutions with representatives from ECOWAS, UEMOA and ministries from West African states.<\/p>\n<p>Borderless Alliance is a private sector-led regional advocacy group that promotes regional economic integration and the free movement of goods and people in West Africa, by tackling barriers to regional trade and transport.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA), for over a decade, has been the institutional host and key partner of the Borderless Alliance in Ghana.
