border<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_xfluidplugincopy x_FluidPluginCopy\"><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30314\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/wi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" \/>T<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">he disagreements resulted in a\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">sit-down<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0strike by\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">F<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">reight\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">Forwarders<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">who were unhappy with the action by the Ghana Highway Authority.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">According to the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">F<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">reight\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">F<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">orwarders, the citing of a weighbridge station\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">in<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0the main\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">Customs yard of the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">Aflao border<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0does not only hamper<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0trade facilitation<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0but also revenue generation.<span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_xfluidplugincopy x_FluidPluginCopy\"><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">The GSA\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">engage<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">d<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0the Ghana Highways Authority\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">over the matter and supported the calls for the<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0re-direct<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">ion<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">of\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">cargo trucks to the Akatsi weighbridge station<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0instead<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">The re-direction of cargo trucks to the Akatsi weighbridge is expected to<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\"> prevent congestion at the Aflao border and improve transit trade facilitation.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_xfluidplugincopy x_FluidPluginCopy\"><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30315\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/ws.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" \/>At<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0the 68<sup class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">th<\/sup>\u00a0meeting of the Volta Regional Shipper Committee\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">held\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">at Aflao on Friday 20th December 2022, Mr. Vincent Amedorme, a representative of the Freight Forwarders\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">commended\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">the Tema Branch Manager, Mr. Charles Sey<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0for his role in pushing for\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">further consultations amongst industry players.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_xfluidplugincopy x_FluidPluginCopy\"><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">Mr. Amedorme\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">also\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">expressed gratitude to the GSA for ensuring\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">a\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">temporal halt of the operations of the weighbridge Station at the Aflao border.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_xfluidplugincopy x_FluidPluginCopy\"><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">Mr.<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">Sey\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">also assured the VRSC\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">of the GSA\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-US\">intention to pursue the matter for its amicable and mutually beneficial\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">resolution<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\"
