{"id":2972,"date":"2018-10-29T15:00:48","date_gmt":"2018-10-29T15:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/?p=2972"},"modified":"2018-10-29T15:00:48","modified_gmt":"2018-10-29T15:00:48","slug":"ghana-shippers-authority-wins-industry-leadership-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vigorous-feistel.187-124-37-238.plesk.page\/?p=2972","title":{"rendered":"Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority wins Industry Leadership Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA) has been adjudged winner of the Industry Leadership Award of the Year 2018 for the shipping and logistics sector at the maiden edition of the Ghana Business Awards held 27<sup>th&nbsp;<\/sup>October, 2018 in Accra.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2977\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GBA-Picture-1-1024x683.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>In a citation accompanying the Award, the GSA was commended for embarking on a nation-wide education campaign to shippers on the introduction of the paperless port project.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign saw the Authority engaging various groups of shippers such as the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), spare parts dealers in Abbosey Okai and Suame, Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the 10 regional Shipper Committees and other shippers across the country. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Award also recognised the significant contribution of the GSA towards sensitising shippers to avoid the payment of demurrage at the country\u2019s ports.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2976\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 5184px\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2976 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GBA-Picture-2.jpg\" ><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">CEO of the Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority Ms Benonita Bismarck (2nd from left ) receiving the award<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The GSA was also commended for its maritime infrastructure projects such as the Boankra Inland Port, Takoradi Logistics Platform, warehouses in Tema, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Business Awards is an initiative that recognises and rewards excellence across all sectors of industry in Ghana.
