{"id":25885,"date":"2022-11-08T17:48:40","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T17:48:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/?p=25885"},"modified":"2022-11-08T17:48:40","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T17:48:40","slug":"shipper-operational-challenges-gsa-visits-two-firms-in-tema-industrial-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vigorous-feistel.187-124-37-238.plesk.page\/?p=25885","title":{"rendered":"Shipper Operational Challenges: GSA Visits Two Firms in Tema Industrial Area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA) has visited two firms in the Tema Industrial Area as part of efforts to ascertain some shipper operational challenges reported by some importers and exporters.<\/p>\n<p>The move was also to gather data to influence policies in the shipping and logistics sector.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25880\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/PHOTO-2022-11-08-13-34-43.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" \/>According to the GSA, data gathering is one of the key ways it uses to help provide long-lasting solutions to some of the challenges facing shippers in its bid to promote socio-economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>The visit, which happened on Friday 4<sup>th<\/sup> November 2022, afforded the GSA the opportunity to interact with the shippers and take stock of their peculiar challenges.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25881\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/PHOTO-2022-11-08-13-34-42.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" \/>The companies visited were Rider Steel Ghana LTD, a metal recycling and steel production company and KAD Manufacturing LTD; exporters of made-in-Ghana clothes for local and foreign markets.<\/p>\n<p>The two (2) firms were sensitised on the Bank of Ghana\u2019s Letter Of Commitment (LOC) and other export requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The GSA team urged them not to hesitate in reporting any export and import challenge to the Shipper Complaints and Support Unit located at all the country\u2019s entry points.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25879\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/PHOTO-2022-11-08-13-34-44.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" \/>The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of KAD Manufacturing LTD Mr. T.P. Patnaik commended the GSA for the visit.
