A delegation from the Nigerian Shippers\u2019 Council (NSC) has paid a working visit to the Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA) in a move to intensify collaboration to improve the quality of services offered at the various ports in the two countries.<\/p>\n
The meeting held at the Ghana Shippers\u2019 House in Accra on 16th<\/sup> June 2022, was to enable the NSC to familiarise itself with the activities of the GSA and ultimately improve cross-border trade between the two countries in the sub-region.<\/p>\n The two-member delegation made up of the Zonal Director-North Central Zone of the NSC Mrs. Okulue Ify and the Director of the Abuja Liaison Office of the NSC Mrs. Karimatu Othman discussed issues of mutual interest with their counterparts from the GSA.<\/p>\n The Director of the Abuja Liaison Office of the NSC Karimatu Othman described the meeting with the GSA as crucial. \u201cThere comes a time when it would be necessary to take a comparative assessment of your operations vis-\u00e0-vis your counterparts within or outside the region in order to share experiences, exchange information and compare notes on ways to improve on the services rendered to the users\u201d, she noted.<\/p>\n The Head of Freight and Logistics Department of the GSA Mr. Fred Asiedu Dartey used the occasion to update the officials of the NSC on some activities the GSA has been undertaking to improve cross-border trade.<\/p>\n He said \u201cwe are happy to receive you in our country and we hope to have such meetings often so that we can learn from each other and improve the shipping and logistics industry and invariably make shippers in the two countries and sub-region more competitive on the global market.\u201d<\/p>\n The team from NSC had the opportunity to visit the Tema Port to acquaint\u00a0 themselves with port operations.<\/p>\n From left, Mrs. Karimatu Othman and Mrs. Okulue Ify being taken a tour by a Marketing officer at the GPHA, Michael Appiagyei<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A delegation from the Nigerian Shippers\u2019 Council (NSC) has paid a working visit to the Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA) in a move to intensify collaboration to improve the quality of<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":12274,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[24],"tags":[742,960,1608,1617,1703],"class_list":["post-12254","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-fred-asiedu-dartey","tag-gpha","tag-mrs-karimatu-othman","tag-mrs-okulue-ify","tag-nigerian-shippers-council"],"yoast_head":"\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/nsc-2.jpg\")
